Standing with Grassway

Our friends and partners at Grassway Organics are engaged in a dispute with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade & Consumer Protection (DATCP) (local news story). Living Lands Trust stands behind Grassway and their efforts to continue operating a safe and viable, community-centered farm. We have partnered with Grassway Organics since 2017 and have been nothing short of amazed by their entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, and loving care of the land and animals of the farm. Through two decades of partnering with regenerative farmers and land stewards in multiple states, Living Lands Trust knows well the many challenges facing those trying to maintain livelihoods by operating small farms and social enterprises—from lack of access to land and capital to regulatory system tilted toward large-scale, status quo interests. Despite this, through hard work and innovation, Grassway Organics has built a successful farm business that meets local demand for nourishing wholesome food and a vibrant farmscape that is seasonally open to all.  Thank you to Grassway Organics, and to all those who are joining them to stand up for the rights of community-centered farming, local enterprise, and the loving care of land and place.
