Altfrid Krusenbaum
Land Stewardship & Agronomy Advisor
Altfrid and his wife, Sue, developed and operated the 450-acre Krusen Grass Farms operation from 1990 until 2015. There they trained interns and sharemilkers and hosted educational events for the community. Since his retirement as an active farmer in 2015, Altfrid supports the work of Living Lands Trust as our agronomy and land stewardship advisor in Wisconsin. In addition, he runs Krusen Grass Consulting, a dairy and beef grazing consulting business, and works as the On Farm Education Director for the Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship Program. Over the years, he has been active in serving government and private organizations that foster an understand of organic grazing farming practices. Altfrid was born, raised and formally educated in Germany, and immigrated to the US in 1986.
